If it doesn’t work then you won’t have attached the new handle properly, so take the handle out and go back to step six. Test the new handleĪt this point I closed the door to check it reopened when I pulled the handle. This bit isn’t hard to do, just hard to describe. Make sure the handle hooks on to the catches inside. smaller end first, larger end second then move it towards the front of the car to slot it into place. Put this in the opposite way to how you removed the old handle: i.e. You don’t have to do this, but I thought I’d take the opportunity to clean behind the rubber seals as quite a bit of dirt had built up behind them. Pull the main bit of the handle cover towards the rear of the car and it will come loose 5. Just pull the main bit of the cover towards the back of the car and it should come away from the door. The smaller bit of the handle (not pictured) will come away when the screw has been turned enough times 4. You’ll know you have turned the screw enough when the small handle cover comes off completely. The longer one in the middle didĪs you turn the screw, keep your other hand on the small part of the exterior handle (not pictured below.) You’ll feel it come loose with each turn. The left and right small T25 screwdriver heads didn’t fit. Not sure what the problem was with the other two heads, but I just thought I’d mention this in case yours doesn’t fit straight away. I then tried a longer T25 head (entre) and it fitted perfectly. Two of my short Torx 25 screwdriver heads (left and right below) did not fit this screw easily and when I turned nothing happened. You’ll need a screwdriver with a long enough shaft – a stubby one will be too short but a normal length one should be OK. In order to remove the outside handle you need to turn this screw anticlockwise. Inside the hole and you’ll see a T25 Torx screw inside. Hole on left side with plastic cover removed 3. The photo shows the hole that’s left after removing the cover. Use your plastic knife to prise off the cover. Open the door you want to replace the handle for and locate the black plastic cover level with the lock on the inside of the door edge.
